General Purpose Auto body filler

General purpose auto body filler, generically known as Bondo, after the 3M brand, is used for larger areas and those requiring a thicker consistency. It can be used successfully on vertical surfaces and is a good option for quarter panel repairs after welding or bonding.

This auto body filler grinds and sands easily and can be mixed with its supplied hardener to cure as fast as ten minutes if you are able to work with it that rapidly.

Popular makes of this body filler are Bondo, Evercoat,Standox,USC fiberglass,U-Pol,Dynalite,and Marson

All of these fillers are polyester resin based with additives that give them the required textures, including talc,glass spheres and styrene, and other agents that give them thickening and filling properties.
