2000 Mustang Convertible Visor

Question:

How do you disconnect the wiring on mirrored, lighted, sunvisors to recondition (faded and torn material) for a 2000 Mustang GT convertible?

I can remove a screw and clip to get the actual visor down, but I need to disconnect the visor wiring.

I'd prefer not to remove the entire brackets. I'm not replacing the visor, just reconditioning it.

Thanks

Answer:

Your 2000 Mustang Convertible's visor wiring connector is just inside the headliner covering.

If you remove the screws, attaching the visor to the roof A pillar/header bracket and gently tug the wiring. You should be able to carefully remove the connector and unplug it.

If you can't safely remove it this way, you'll probably be forced to remove either the A-pillar garish molding or the header molding to find it. (sorry)

When you put it back on, it's always a good idea to give the wire connectors a light coating with dielectric grease to prevent any future corrosion and electrical problems.

Hope that helps!

B.

remove sunvisor 2000 mustang convertible
by: Ron

Do I need to remove the two (2) screws in the headliner/piller or only the single Torx screw near the arm of the sunvisor?

Sorry. It's been awhile since I did the last one. (lots of early stuff recently - pre 93). I'd suggest taking it all off to be sure.

It's not much more work.
