Mustang door panel removal - 1994 to 2004

This section details Mustang door panel removal for all SN95 models from 1994 to 1999 as well as the 2000 to 2004 pony cars.

The most common reason for removing the door panel from a 1994 and newer Mustang is likely to upgrade the speakers, but as these pony cars get older, other issues can crop up, such as door latches that don't, stuck windows and electrical issues.

The equipment you'll need to remove them isn't anything special. Just an assortment of regular screwdrivers, and a pair of needle nose pliers should do the trick.

Door Panel Removal Procedure

Step One:

There's a small plastic panel clip located on the front lower edge of the pony car's door panel, by the speaker housing. Gently pry it out around the edges with a thin flat head screwdriver. Once you have something to grab onto, pull it gently out with your needle nose pliers.

Step Two:

Carefully remove the door trim handle panel cover that's in the recess of the door pull.

Step Three:

Using a thin flat head screwdriver at the top of the curved window and door lock switch cover, carefully dislodge the cover from the main door panel.

Step Four:

Using a nut driver, remove the two retaining nuts, which hold the switch assembly to this cover and set the panel cover aside.

Step Five:

Remove the 2 black screws that hold that part of the Mustang door panel to the metal inner door.

Step Six:

Pull the bottom edges slightly outwards with your hands and lift the panel to remove it.

That's it. You're done ! Covers replacement for 1994, 1995,1996, 1997,1998,1999, 2000, 2001, 2002,2003 and 2004 cars.
