1964 1/2 Mustang Reassembly

On a 1964 1/2 Mustang are the front guard bolts zinc coated or are they colour coded from factory?

Assuming you're asking about the chromed guards below the front bumper; while there may be some chance of accidental overspray, my sources tell me the bolt/nut finish should be "natural".

Question:
And could you tell me, is the bottom end of the steering column which sticks out into the engine bay black or is the whole column the interior colour?

The end of the column (housing) should match the interior color. It was a separate assembly which was inserted through the firewall and attached later.
